Sensex jumps over 600 pts, Nifty reclaims 10400, TCS fall
The BSE Sensex is higher by 638 points at 34639.47, and the NSE Nifty up 197 points at 10431.85.
M&M, ITC, Bajaj Finance, UPL, Yews bank were among major gainers on the NSE, while TCS, HCL Tech, Infosys were top losers
TCS shares extended losses the back of a rising rupee and fell as much as 3.18% to Rs 1,917 per share on NSE after the company reported its Sept quarter results. Infosys and HCL Technologies are trading lower on the back of a rising rupee.
Oil prices steadied on Friday led by sharp falls in equity markets and indications that supply concerns have been overblown, but were still on track for a fall or more than 4 percent for the week.
Brent crude futures contract fell 3.4% on Thursday, after hitting a low of USD 79.80, its weakest since September 24.
